Reiki

Reiki is probably one of the most well known healing styles around the world. "Ray-key" is Japanese for "Universal Life Force," or the Healing Energy of the Universe. it is defined as being that power which acts and lives in all created matter. The work consists of two parts: rei describes the boundless universal energy, and ki is in itself part of rei, being that part of rei that flows through living things.

Reiki is an ancient healing art rediscovered in Japan in the 1800's by Christian minister Dr. Mikao Usui. Through an investigative process that led him to sanskrit texts, Usui stumbled on healing practices used by Buddha and Jesus. Usui's techniques re-awaken and re-open the healing channel within the the practitioner to allow for the transfer of the Vital Life Force manifesting it's Healing Nature.

Reiki is used by a huge number of healers of all types as either a basis for their sessions, to enhance their style, or their sole technique.

Reiki is compatible with all religions and belief systems and is healing energy in it's truest sense of the word by nature of the fact that it's action is invited by the practitioner, allowed, but not manipulated or directed as such. Reiki leads directly to greater individual harmony and attunement to the basic forces of the universe.
